Chapter-By-Chapter Guidance – Chapter 6: Weak Points & Strong

February 8, 2013

globally interconnected economic worldWhat Sun Tzu Wrote:

“He who can modify his tactics in relation to his opponent and thereby succeed in winning, may be called a heaven-born captain.”

What This Means to the Modern Financial Professional:

Rarely are all deciding factors constant. The market is constantly in flux, its participants ever jockeying for position. The FP must not rely on snapshot observations to make all future determinations, but instead establish processes for constantly surveying clients, competitors, and other elements of the landscape not readily available from Bloomberg. Those who excel are able to conceive strategies and tactics, and make timely decisions, based on imperfect information. Risk never goes away; it may “disguise” itself, but never disappears. Do not be lulled into false security. Anything can and does happen in the markets, and in our globally interconnected economic world. That’s why it is indeed a truly money-mad world.
